I think people are quick to move on if something doesn't affect them directly. I think people tend to look at the "right now" and don't want to step out of their comfort zone. I don't think people truly understand that this can happen to you or your family at anytime. I don't think people realize that just by being pregnant your child is at risk. Just look at the statistics for Childhood Cancer, Autism/Aspergers, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Deaf/Blind etc.
Why wouldn't you want to educate yourself now?

Friday Confessional Turtle Boy

I confess:

• I live in the L.A. area and because of Kobe I can't stand the Lakers (the arrogance is nauseating)
• I redirected my son so I could take his cheetos puffs
• I am doing great at exercising but still battling my desire to cheat eat
• My feet look like I walked over Hot Coals

• I couldn't find the Toenail Clippers last night so soaked then filed my toenails down
• I am confused by the happiness in my new neighborhood. My old hood people were so negative, and rude. So now when people say hi I am not prepared for it.. it scares me.. like someone jumping out and saying boo!

• I am super sensitive. I get my feelings hurt easily.
• I can eat like a Football Player 
• I don't think Taye Diggs is cute He looks like a Turtle.

Thursday Thunks Baby Mop

1. Tomorrow you'll be thinking to yourself?

 I get one hour a day to think of myself and that's during my morning walk. Which is spent most of the time thinking of the kids appts, meals, and weekend plans. So I really spend that hour trying to think of myself but failing. However just taking the walk is thinking of myself so maybe I need to give my self a little credit!

 get abused during my Autistic Son's Meltdowns... and i mean ABUSED!

   You know.... the whole Stranger Danger thingy!

 After much research I would say Every Thorn carries a possible infection. Google it.

Decade of the 90's...Every other weekend Taking son Across the Bay Bridge to visit Dad.

 I did and didn't like it. It was the only time I ever was carsick! Could it have been the full bar in the Limo? Possibly.

Wherefore art thou corn man... and other Random Tuesday thoughts

• Yesterday's post had me craving corn... the Corn Man didn't come :( 
•  I have a cut on the bottom and top part on the tip of my tongue. I don't know how I got it but it frikkin hurts! So maybe Corn is a bad idea.
•  Six more days until I have a real bed!! Okay a Futon but that's getting closer!
• Caffeine in its cold state (iced coffee, iced latte, iced black or green teas) is more potent than caffeine drunk hot. 
• I went to Barista school and worked in various coffee shops (one well known) as a Shift Supervisor for more than 6 years. I think the total is closer to 8 yrs counting maternity leaves.
• Tip your local Barista the companies treat them like crap.
• I reverted back to being a Vegetarian. Not because I am an animal activist, for my health.
• I spent many years being a Vegetarian when I lived in the Bay and its the best I've ever felt in my life.
• Today is National Missing Children's Day.
• If a Perv ever took my child please lock me up because I'd hunt him down like Sally Fields did in An Eye for an Eye.
• It's suppose to rain here in Cali Tuesday & Wednesday. I'm very happy, not ready for Summer.
• I strongly dislike the heat. Strongly.
• If you hate Tofu try it baked.. Teriyaki Baked Tofu is delish! And I detest Tofu!!
• I am NEVER sticking up for my Lil' Cousin again!! She has a PHD in "lack of loyalty" and an AA in "throwing stones while having a glass house".
• I no longer get bitter or upset when people aren't how I expect them to be, I simply move on and don't look back.
• My garden of friends and family has been weeded.
• I didn't walk the last three days
• Going to walk now

No, but I do have this Loud Contagious Never-Ending Laugh!

(given to me by my Samoan friend, the girls at my old job use it too)



3 - Do you know sign language?

 Some but not really ASL more baby signs. I had to drop out of my beginning ASL class when my son aged out of his subsidized daycare



4 - What's a sample convo from your hood?

*Blaring Creepy Music from outside* 

Kids: Mama.. the Ice Cream Man is here do you have a dollar? 

Me: Hell Naw!! You think I'm made of money? It's the end of the month, what we have left is only for Emergencies!!!

(5min later) 

*Beep Beep-Bicycle Cart Horn* 

 Me: Watch your brother the Corn man is here, and don't touch my change jar thats for the Tamale Lady!!!!

(The corn man is so good.. he rubs butter and  parmesan cheese then sprinkles pico de gallo on it. The corn on the cob is on a Stick so you can hold it and chow down... and The Tamale Lady.... Fresh Fresh Fresh & YUMMY!... so yup this is considered an emergency!)


5-  Do you sleep with electronic devices - i.e. laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, etc?

I am terrified of the dark. Seriously pee my pants terrified!! My T.V. and bathroom light stays on all night!

the kids can split up with their friends

to see the newest Sensory Friendly kids movie!

Shrek 4 is playing today near us. 

(we won't make it today though, 

we are going to support the Lemonade4Autism Stand)
