My Blog is about many things, adult adoptee, autism, family, laughter, and love, feel free to follow me on my journey, and look through my archives. It takes more than one subject to define me or my family. We are a mixture of a bit of everything!

1st Annual Blog Bash-My Intro Post

    Blog Bash

I am a Single Mom of Four and all my bff's are toddlers.  I have some bff's in Middle School and a few in Junior High. My life and my schedule doesn't leave much room for adults. My youngest is Autistic and he and his friends (at least the ones I make him hang out with, I'm still not sure if he knows they are his homeys) are my life. Autism Awareness is what I promote everywhere I go.
Maybe that's why my Bff's are under 5ft.

    1.) Why do you blog?

I started blogging because I was way too long winded on facebook. I needed a forum for my thoughts. However, I am still long winded on facebook, lol. So now I have a facebook profile page, a Facebook Autism page and a blog.

2.) What do you blog about?

I began blogging a lot about Adoption. I ran out of things to talk about though. So I started gearing it more towards Autism. My 3 1/2 year old is Autistic so that's my daily life blessings and struggles.

3.) What do you find to be the biggest reward you get from blogging?

It's given me an opportunity to connect with people who have the same humor, lifestyle, and issues I have. I don't get together with my girlfriends much anymore due to distance and the care my son needs. I use to get really upset and feel as if my friends were ditching me. But, in reality, we just dont have much in common anymore. I am asleep by 10pm when they are ready to go out. Their complaints about hair and clothing are trivial to me. I just don't see the need to spend money that I don't have. I feel a lot better looking at it that way. I don't have anything in common with them. Blogging brings back that Adult female bond I've been missing.

4.) How long have you been blogging?

    Since November 2009.

5.) Let's hear the story behind your blog title! :)

It's kind of sarcastic. I am not used to being labeled or even realizing I am adopted, hence the running out of things to write about, until someone points it out to me... "thats your mom", "thats your dad", "your sister's so light", etc. Pretty interesting I forget at times right?... me having white parents and all. I just wasn't raised that way, even growing up in an era that's pre-Brangelina. My parents are just cool like that. They broke the mold.

Send Them Back Monday will return next week.
