Special Exposure Wednesday Whole Foods Rocks!

    5 Minutes for Special Needs

We attended a Free lecture at Whole Foods Market. Autism: Diet & Digestion with Kristin Selby Gonzalez. I do not practice the GFCF diet. However, I do think its important to learn everything you can in order to make informed decisions. I also feel that just because you don't practice something does not mean you can't take bits and pieces of that idea and apply it to your life. I did get a lot out of the lecture, and Kristin was just the sweetest person! I forgot my camera so these are from my aged cell phone!

That is so fabulous that they offered that to customers!

I LOVE Whole Foods. Unfortunately, we don't have one around here. My ex-fiance lived just outside of Philly, & there was a Whole Foods not far from his house. I went every weekend to buy something to cook for dinner. They have such neat stuff!

Wow, I really wish I lived in a community where things like this are offered. Thanks for sharing!

Whole Foods is an amazing store. Unfortunately, they are quite far from our house (an hour away). I did go there for help when Buddy was first diagnosed with his many food allergies though!

Wiw I never knew that food could play a role in Autism.. I should have though. I can tell you when Doug has had too much BBQ sauce which he views as it's own food group he is sick and mean and wound tighter then Dick's hatband..I think it is great that this store gives back to the community this way..

I'm still trying to fiqure out if there is a tomato-catsup link to the 21st chromosone, as Ricki and almost every child with Down syndrome that I know LOVE catsup and tomatos....!

Cute photos! It's wonderful that the newer stores have community rooms and reach out in this way. Our local GFCF support group meets in a place like that and the store even provides samples of new things to try each month. :)

Sounds great - I agree - just because you don't follow something 100% doesn't mean you can't find it useful.

I really like whole foods. I don't light how much lighter my wallet feels when I leave. Sounds like a great workshop. I agree, taking what works for you is still a good use of the information provided.

Cute pics, even if from an aged cell phone.
And I agree, you can take bits and pieces from just about anything that can be useful! Great attitude!

I don't do that diet either but I agree, take bits and pieces and apply it. I love Whole Foods, they have so much stuff. Too bad most of it is beyond what my budget can afford.
