Sunday's in My City (Country) R.I.P.

    Unknown Mami

    MUDSLIDE IN MY COUNTRY

Please take a Moment to Pray
For the Ugandans Lost & Not Found
    (My family is okay,
they are in and near Kampala,
this is more toward the Kenya border in Bududa)

The Last two Pictures are of
Volunteers Digging for and Removing Bodies...
as most of you know I am not an advocate for
    Over-Exposing the Tragedy of others
(which is why I didn't show the bodies)...
But one, this is my Country,
and two, it's barely made news
and I want everyone to be aware
    of what happened.

Also reported this week by the BBC:

Burials are being held in Uganda for people killed in a mudslide which swept away three villages near the eastern town of Bududa.
The BBC's Joshua Mmali at the scene on the slopes of Mount Elgon said in some cases entire families were being buried.
About 90 bodies have been recovered; more than 260 people are still missing.
The UN says it is supplying tents and plastic sheeting for up to 5,000 people left homeless by the mudslide.
In one village, eyewitnesses said schoolchildren took shelter in a health centre later engulfed by the mud.

This is why I cannot handle the news. They underreport the tragedies and focus on big cities and countries, leaving the little guys to fend for themselves. I am so sorry that happened in your country and glad you brought it to our attention!
